Six Months of Bullet Journal Cover Pages

Hey everybody!

Today I realized that June is halfway through 2018! To celebrate I decided that I would share all of the bullet journal cover pages that I’ve done since the beginning of this year! That way I can see all of the different themes I’ve had and how I’ve changed my bullet journaling style throughout the past months. I didn’t actually do cover pages until March due to time restraints so for January and February I just have the monthly layout to start the beginning of the spread.

So for January my theme was snowflakes. February was hearts and roses. March was bugs and vines. April was sunflowers, the cover page is different from the rest of the spread. May was lavender. And currently, June is space! I really like combining all of the cover pages for the months just because I can see how my perspective of bullet journaling has changed and the progress I’ve made in my journal overall. So here below is all of my bullet journal covers I’ve done so far this year:

June Weekly Bullet Journal Spreads

Hey all!

Today I’m going to share with you all my weekly calendars for the month of June! As many of you know, I used weekly calendars for January and found out they were taking up too much of my time so I got rid of them. Since it’s summer now and I have more time I’ve decided to give them a second chance. The second time around I’ve found them to be much more useful, I’ve been filling it out and referring to it daily to make sure I accomplish everything I’ve written down. They are also nice because it gives me a chance to create pages in my bullet journal aside from the monthly pages I do. They are also a great way to try new bullet journal techniques, like using washi tape which I did in this post.

The first page here is for June 4th-10th (the days for June 1st-3rd are in my June Bullet Journal Set Up). To create this page I used silver washi tape (for the first time ever!) with stars on it to go vertically down along the side of the page. I used stencils to draw stars at the top of the page and shaded them in with my Artist’s Loft pens. I numbered each of the days starting with the date. At the very bottom of the page I continued with the space theme for the month and wrote “Reach for the Stars.”

IMG_3978.JPG

For the week of June 11th-17th I did more of a gold theme. I used the washi tape horizontally here instead of vertically like in the one before. The washi tape is gold and white with zig zag lines. I used my gold sharpie pen to draw dots at the very top of the page to fill in the empty space, I used a paper towel to back the page so the pen didn’t bleed into the next pages. I added a quote on this page that says “die with memories, not dreams.”

I hope you guys enjoyed my weekly spreads as much as I do! After not having these for so long I’m definitely glad they’re back as they help with weekly planning and other festivities! Thank you all for reading, let me know if you enjoy posts like this and want to see more weekly spreads in the future!

First June Bullet Journal Quote

Good afternoon everybody!

I’m so excited to share this month’s quote with you! This one is definitely different from the quotes that I’ve done in the past as it’s more of a doodle but I’m still considering it a quote!

For this bullet journal page I used by new Artist’s Loft pens to draw a whale and a planet (to continue with my space theme for June). I used the shading pen by Prismacolor to blend the colors of the planet. I got a little punny with the words on this one as it states “oh whale.” I didn’t wasn’t to have to mess up a page in my bullet journal so I drew the quote on a separate piece of paper and tore it off and taped in in my bullet journal. I really enjoyed doodling for my bullet journal, it’s not something I really do much of in my journal but I’m thinking of doing it more for future months!

I’d love to hear if you like pages like this where there’s more doodling than quotes, if you’d like to see more of this let me know!

New Bullet Journal Stationary

As I briefly mentioned in my last post I stopped at Michael’s on my way back from taking my final for my online class and bought some new bullet journal supplies! I haven’t invested in anything bullet journal related since December, when I first got my bullet journal! I didn’t really have anything in particular I was looking for but I had fun browsing around and finding what I think would be a neat new addition!

First is some stencils! I’ve never used stencils in my bullet journal before (I hope it’s not considered cheating) but I am so excited to start! The pack I got is from ArtMinds and it has a ton of random designs that I’ll be able to create from!

I also got dragonfly stencils! (possible theme soon?)

IMG_3976.JPG

Also, if you’ve been following my blog for awhile you would know how badly I’ve wanted to start using washi tape in my bullet journal spreads! This pack is from recollections and basically has every pattern with gold, silver, and bronze backgrounds! I incorporated this into my second weekly spread for June so stay tuned for that later this week!

IMG_3977.JPG

And finally, new pens! I got a bunch of colors from Artist’s Loft and three pens from Prismacolor! I added a key to the right so you can see what color aligns with which pen, I’ve tried all of them out and I love them all so much and can’t wait to use them in my bullet journal!

That’s it for my new stationary! That should hold me over until the end of the year! (hopefully)

If you have any more questions about these products or have another product that I should definitely check out let me know! Stay tuned later this week for the monthly quote for June (it’s gonna be a good one)!

May Bullet Journal Review

Happy June everybody! Personally May is going to be hard to top, for me it was a month filled with productivity and self-bettering and realigning my life. It was such an amazing month but I am so incredibly excited for what June has to offer. In this blog post I will share all of the pages from my May spread and let you all know what worked and what didn’t. And if you haven’t be sure to check out my June Bullet Journal Set Up!

First off is my May Cover page, I ended up loving the lavender theme throughout my bullet journal, just like the scent of lavender it seemed to relax me. (Again, this theme came from Amanda Rach Lee’s May Bullet Journal Set Up)

Next is my monthly layout, again I enjoyed this page and the doodles that came along with it.

IMG_3958.JPG

And then my habit tracker! I don’t know what happened to me this month but this is the best I’ve ever done on fulfilling my habits. I completed all of them with the exception of 8 Hours of Sleep a couple of days due to my internship and one day where I had junk food, which is okay (occasionally)!

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

Next is my weekly calendar, as you can see in my June Bullet Journal I switched this one page out for a page per week which I think will make me more productive (hopefully)!

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

Then it’s my big events page. This page got a little cluttered towards the end of the month and I switched some days up but I still like the lavender bouquet and the colors of the page. I also switched this page out for a daily positivity page for the month of June.

Next is my Polaroid page! This is my favorite Polaroid page that I’ve done the whole year. I love the bouquet and I love the picture, as well as how simplistic the design is. The overall turn out of this page is probably my favorite page for the month of May.

This was my first quote for the month of June (there’s a post about it here). I love the quote but hate the design I did, I made the mistake of writing in marker and it got smudges all over the page. Oh well, learned my lesson.

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

This page was a tracker for my assignments that were due for my online class. (I also made a post about this one here) This was super helpful for keeping me on track, I also finished about a week before the date I wanted to which was awesome!

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

Carrying on with the lavender theme I drew out another quote for this page. I actually liked the turn out of this one and the message of the quote. (there’s a post about it here)

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

Next is my summer goals page, I was a little reckless with this page and didn’t put much thought into the layout so I may redo it later this month and put more thought and consideration into my goals for the summer. (blog post for this page is here)

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

Finally, I created a study guide for my online class so I would be prepared for my final (which I took today) and it definitely helped to keep me on track! This page was accompanied by a little motivation along the side of the page.

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

Thanks for reading! Today after my final I stopped by Michaels (the craft store) and picked up some new stationary! This is a big deal because I haven’t bought anything bullet journal related since I started using my bullet journal! This is super exciting and I will share all of my new finds with you in a blog post later this week! I hope all of you enjoyed May just as much as I did!

June Bullet Journal Set Up

It’s finally that time! June is a week away which means that I get to share with you all my bullet journal spread for June! I’m really excited about this spread because my theme for the month, as you may have guessed from my Sneak Peak at My June Bullet Journal Set Up, is space! This is exciting for me because my previous themes have been snowflakes, roses, sunflowers, lavender, and all things nature-associated. This theme is something quite out of the box for me but I loved how it turned out! Also on another exciting note, I found out that my Crayola Supertip markers can do shading! This probably isn’t super exciting for you but I was pretty impressed when I found out and I definitely made use of that in my bullet journal for this month. I also made a couple adjustments to my pages for the month and am so excited to hear what you all think of it! I hope you all enjoy the planets, stars, and rocket ships ahead! So now: less talk, more bullet journal.

The first page of the month is my cover page which I filled with stars and planets and little black holes and, of course, a giant red-orange planet behind the lettering for June! I think this might be my favorite cover page that I have ever done and I so enjoyed making it too! I just used a simple cursive lettering because I didn’t want to distract from the doodles.

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

For my calendar page for the month I used a giant rocket to fill up the space. Get it? Space? I used a new type of calligraphy I found, consisting of cursive with little dotted lines where the shadow would go (which I honestly am not the biggest fan of but hey it happens), to write “out of this world.” I carried on with the little space oriented phrases throughout the month so stay tuned for more of that!

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

For my habit tracker page I completely changed the orientation of the days for each habit! I used to have it so the days went all the way across the page but now I made little calendars for each habit. Hopefully this will let me know if there are any days I need to work harder to enforce my habits (Monday) or days where I tend to stay pretty true to my habit tracker (literally every other day). I added little shadows to each calendar and used a blue and a purple planet to go between my habits. As a heads up, I switched between doing a red-orange-yellow color scheme and a black-blue-purple one between pages. I liked both of them and they both remind me of space so why not. This page is, of course, accompanied by the reminder to “wish upon a star,” something we should all do a little more of. You also may have noticed that one of my habits is gone, the one for my online class, because I finished all of my assignments for that as of yesterday!

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

I am bringing back weekly planners in my bullet journal (it’s about time I know)! I had them for January but found that I didn’t have a lot of time to be making a new page every week so I eliminated them and replaced them with a sort-of monthly planner, but now they’re back (hopefully for good)! You can see I worked a little bit on my shading game here with the planet and another little quote: “to infinity and beyond” accompanied by the shadow of a little rocket ship! I will definitely be sharing my future weekly planners on my blog so be on the look out for those! Also, if you’re me, each week should start on a Monday which is why this page only has three days.

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

And another new page! How exciting! So instead of having my “Events” page where I write out all the big events for each month I chose to do a daily positivity page. Basically for this page I will write down something positive that happened each day and can look back at the end of the month and be reminded of all of my wonderful memories! I’m super excited for this page and cannot wait to share with you all how it turns out! I’m afraid the page will get too cluttered with all of the writing but we will see! Also really worked on that blue-purple shading here.

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

And now back to the red-orange-yellow pages, with even more shading (you have no idea how happy this made me)! It’s my investment tracker! It’s titled Acorns because that’s the app I use on my phone that tracks my investments, it’s nice having a page for this just so I keep up to date with all of it and remember to check in on it a couple times a month!

IMG_3914.JPG

Now finally it is the last page (so far) from my June bullet journal spread! It’s my polaroid page! The outline of the page was supposed to make the polaroid look like the sun but instead it looks like it’s surrounded by little candy corns. It is all good though, it makes it cute which I’m okay with. I love this page and I know for sure I’ll enjoy coming back in future years and looking at my polaroid pages and be reminded of all the great times I had.

Processed with VSCO with a1 preset

Alright folks, that’s a wrap! This spread was SO much fun for me to create and I hope all of you have gotten at least a little bit of bullet journal inspiration from it! Maybe some of you even learned that your markers can shade like I did, who knows? I also cannot wait to see everybody else’s June layouts! Until next time!

Defining the Habits in my Habit Tracker

When we use the habit tracker page in our bullet journals we tend to use vague terms such as “read,” “exercise,” or “blog.” Although these terms are helpful to us, they may be confusing to anybody else who sees our journal and it may lead to questions like how much do you read? What do you read? How long do you read? That’s why today I am going to go through all of the habits I have in my bullet journal and explaining what I do each day to satisfy the habits.

8 Hours of Sleep: For this habit I just make sure that there has been eight hours since I got into bed and turned the lights off to the time I wake up. I’m obviously not going to keep looking at the clock before I go to bed to make sure I’m getting exactly eight hours but it is a pretty close estimate if anything.

Online Class: This one is pretty simple, I basically just have to work on my online class and make some progress in it. This can be anything that doesn’t take too much time like reading the textbook and taking notes or something that lasts a little bit longer like writing an essay. It really just depends on what I’m in the mood for or have time for that day.

Read: So this is the habit that changes a lot on a day to day basis. I’d like to say that I read fifty pages a day and finish three books a week and although many people can do that, I am not one of them. I read minimum ten pages a day, most days it’s more than that but on the days where I’m really busy it doesn’t feel like it’s possible to read more than ten pages. Even that little amount gets you through a book fairly quickly, and it’s a good starting place if you’re not used to reading every day.

Exercise: For this habit I try to get anywhere from thirty to sixty minutes of exercise in everyday. Some days this just involves taking my dogs on a quick walk but some days it can be a longer run, hike, or something more intense. This, like my other habits, just depends on how much time I have to put in on any given day.

No Junk Food: This one is also open to interpretation. Basically this means that I’m not consistently eating pizza and candy and all of that wonderful food in one day. I’ll occasionally have a veggie or cheese pizza but for the most part I try to stay away from junk food altogether. The most important thing about this in my habit tracker is that I don’t eat more than one junk food item a day, that way the occasional pizza is still fine just as long as its not with soda, ice cream, and all that other stuff.

Blog: This habit does not mean that I write a blog post everyday, that would be way too much. This instead means that I take some time out of my day to respond to notifications, read other people’s posts, and can include writing a new blog post and sharing that as well. It’s nice to be able to take time to focus on this site everyday as it is much less stressful than other social media websites.

Vegetarian: This one is the simplest out of all of my habits and it just means that I don’t eat meat for the day. May is the forth month I’ve had this in my bullet journal and so far I’ve been able to check off every day!

Thank you! I hope all of my habits are a bit clearer now and hope that maybe you found a habit that you would like to incorporate into your bullet journal as well!
